Pilgrimage to Winnipeg

Registration Details

In February 2022, His Holiness Pope Francis proclaimed 2025 as a Jubilee Year, an extraordinary time of grace and renewal for the faithful. The Universal Church celebrates a Jubilee every 25 years, inviting all to embark on spiritual pilgrimages, repent of their sins, extend forgiveness to others, and deepen their connection with God.

The 2025 Jubilee carries the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope,” encapsulating the mission of bringing renewed strength, trust, and an open spirit to a world in need. As Pope Francis has said:

“We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart, and a far-sighted vision.”

This sacred year begins on December 24, 2024, when Pope Francis will open the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, symbolizing the beginning of an extraordinary outpouring of grace and mercy. The Jubilee Year will conclude on January 6, 2026, with the closing of the Holy Door.

Throughout the year, special celebrations, Divine Liturgies, and individual jubilees will take place in Rome and worldwide, highlighting various aspects of faith and spiritual life. The Jubilee offers every believer an opportunity to rediscover their faith and profoundly experience God’s mercy.

Pilgrimage to Rome: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Journey

The heart of the Jubilee celebrations will be in Rome, where millions of faithful will gather to partake in special events, Divine Liturgies, and prayers. Pilgrimages to the Eternal City will include visits to the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica and other historic sites, offering participants a unique spiritual experience.

While a pilgrimage to Rome is a remarkable opportunity, it may not be possible for everyone due to financial or logistical constraints. However, the essence of the Jubilee Year remains accessible to all through local celebrations and pilgrimages.
