The Ukrainian Catholic parishes of the Edmonton Eparchy invite the faithful to walk with Christ this Lent through the prayerful tradition of the Stations of the Cross. In several parishes across the city, the community will gather each week to meditate on the Lord’s Passion and to pray for personal conversion, families, the Church, and peace in the world.

Walking with Christ this Lent

The Stations of the Cross are a beloved Lenten devotion in which we follow Jesus on His way to Calvary, step by step. In our eparchy, this prayer is offered in Ukrainian, English, or bilingually, allowing parishioners of different ages and backgrounds to participate more fully. All are welcome to join any of the services listed below, regardless of home parish.

On Sunday, March 15, at 3:00 PM, St. Nicholas Parish will host a special bilingual Stations of the Cross for peace in Ukraine and throughout the world. Parishioners and guests will gather to walk the Way of the Cross, entrusting to the Lord all those who suffer because of war, violence, and injustice, especially the people of Ukraine.

This service, organized by the Mothers in Prayer community, is a heartfelt response to the ongoing needs of families, children, and communities affected by conflict. After praying the stations inside the church, participants will join a procession around the church grounds, continuing their intercession in visible solidarity with all who long for peace.

All are warmly invited to come and pray – individuals, families, and parish groups, so that together we may ask the Lord to heal wounds, strengthen faith, and renew hope in Ukraine and in every place touched by war.

An Invitation to Pray Together

In a world deeply in need of reconciliation and hope, the Stations of the Cross draw us into the mystery of Christ’s suffering love and unite us in intercession for those who are hurting. All are warmly invited to come, pray, and journey through Lent with Christ in our Edmonton Eparchy parishes.
