Every February, the Eparchy of Edmonton invites couples to pause from daily busyness and focus on their love, faith, and each other through a cherished tradition — “Table for Two: Be My Valentine.” What began as a local event in Edmonton has blossomed into a heartfelt celebration across multiple parishes, uniting couples in prayer, conversation, and joy.
Edmonton: A Night of Faith, Love, and Connection
On February 15, 2026, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish in Edmonton opened its doors to 18 couples who gathered for an evening of romance and reflection. The evening blended inspiring testimonies from married couples with moments of prayer, soft music, and an atmosphere of love. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by a talented chef and served with care by parish volunteers.
It was more than a dinner — it was a reminder that true love grows stronger when rooted in faith and nourished by time spent together.
Calgary: Returning After 15 Years
In Calgary, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish (ABVM) revived the Table for Two tradition after nearly 15 years. Thanks to the dedication of parish volunteers, 16 couples—from newly engaged pairs to those celebrating 50 years of marriage—enjoyed an evening filled with music, dancing, shared meals, and heartfelt testimonies.
The joy and gratitude expressed by participants sparked conversations about making this a yearly tradition once again. The evening beautifully showcased how faith, laughter, and community can rekindle love’s light at any stage of marriage.
Red Deer: Love That Grows and Listens
On February 21, St. Volodymyr Parish in Red Deer hosted ten couples for a cozy, faith-filled evening dedicated to celebrating married love. Couples shared stories, listened deeply to one another, and reflected on what it means to love truly and faithfully.
Their positive feedback was immediate and inspiring. The parish community now plans to host more gatherings — the next meeting is set for March 28, continuing the journey of helping couples grow in faith, strengthen their bonds, and witness to God’s love within their families.
Growing Together in Love
This year’s “Table for Two” revealed something special — the desire across our Eparchy to build strong Christian marriages rooted in God’s love. We give thanks for every couple, volunteer, and parish that made these evenings possible.
May these gatherings continue to inspire and remind us all that God is the center of every strong marriage and the guide for every couple beginning their journey together.
