New Kiew Parish Raises $4000 for Ukraine and Local UCWLC Celebrates 75th Anniversary

Members of the New Kiew Ukrainian Catholic Church of Holy Ascension were pleased to donate over $4,000 to relief efforts in Ukraine. Members donated over $3,000 and the Parish added an additional $1,000, along with their prayers for Ukrainians. The parish of 25 families raised the funds in just over a week and plans to continue collecting donations for Ukraine.

On Sunday, March 6 the 22 member New Kiew Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League of Canada celebrated their 75th Anniversary! His Excellency Bishop David Motiuk and Revered Father Don Bodnar celebrated Divine Liturgy and offered a Panachyda for all deceased UCWLC Members. Following a lunch catered by Baba’s Best Cooking Company, a short program was held in the Parish Hall. There were many presentations made by dignitaries, surrounding UCWLC branches and The Eparchy. Years of Service presentations were made to current members for all of their hard work and dedication to our league! Многая Літа!

For their 75th Anniversary, the New Kiew UCWLC compiled a cookbook including recipes from past and present members and their families.
