Того, хто став тлінним через провину, хоч і був створений за образом Божим, але відпав від духовного божественного життя, знову оновлює премудрий Творець; бо Він прославився. Коли побачив Творець загиблу людину, яку створив Своїми руками, прихилив небеса і зійшов, і всю її істоту на Себе прийняв, воістину воплотившись від божественної чистої Діви; бо Він прославився. Будучи Премудрістю, Словом і Силою, Сином Отця і Сяйвом Його, Христос Бог таємно від небесних і земних, ставши людиною, оновив нас; бо Він прославився. Ірмос 3: Споконвічно від Отця народженому нетлінно Синові,* що в останній час безсіменно від Діви тілом народився, Христу Богові, закличмо:* Святий ти, Господи,* що збільшив нашу славу! Адам земний, який через вдихання прийняв чисту душу, але через жіночу оману зійшов до тління, побачивши Христа, народженого Дівою, виголошує: свят єси, Господи, що заради мене уподібнився мені. Ти, Христе, принизив Себе, прийнявши смертне тіло людини, з’єднався з гіршим, щоб обожити його; ставши земним, Ти залишився Богом і підніс нашу природу; свят єси, Господи. Веселися, Вифлеєме, царю князів Юдиних, бо Христос – пастир Ізраїля, що сидить на херувимах, із тебе вийшов видимо і, піднісши нас, над усіма воцарився.

З Адамової природи народився Син, і вірним дарується Немовля мале; але Він – Отець будучого віку і Начальник, і Ангелом Великої ради називається. Він Бог кріпкий і тримає все творіння у Своїй владі.

Що це за слова? – сказали пастирі. – Ходімо, побачимо Божественного Христа. Коли ж прийшли до Вифлеєма, поклонилися разом з Тією, що народила, співаючи: Бог отців благословенний. Ірмос 8: Образом незбагненного чуда була росоносна піч,* бо, як вона не спалила юнаків,* так і вогонь Божества не спалив Діви,* що у її лоно ввійшов.* Тому голосно заспіваймо:* Всі створіння нехай благословляють Господа і величають його повіки! Стих: Слава, Господи, святому Різдву твоєму. Дочка Вавилонова збирає від Сіона до себе полонених синів Давидових, але посилає своїх синів – волхвів з дарами на поклоніння до дочки Давидової, що прийняла в Себе Бога. Тому, співаючи, взиваємо: нехай благословляє все творіння Господа і прославляє по всі віки. Не хотіли співати діти Сіона на землі чужій плачливі пісні. Але Христос, що засяяв у Вифлеємі, викриває всю оману Вавилонську і музичні співи. Тому, співаючи, взиваємо: нехай благословляє все творіння Господа і прославляє по всі віки. Одержав Вавилон здобич, і полонене багатство царства Сіонського; Христос же повертає Його до Сіона і приводить царів, настановляючи зіркою служителів зірок. Євангеліє: Мт 2,1-12 Коли Ісус народився у Вифлеємі Юдейськім, за днів Ірода царя, мудреці прийшли в Єрусалим зо Сходу і спитали: “Де цар юдейський, що оце народився? Бо ми бачили його зорю на сході й прийшли йому поклонитись.” Почувши це цар Ірод, стривожився, і ввесь Єрусалим з ним. Зібравши всіх первосвящеників та книжників народних, він випитав у них, де Христос має народитися. Вони йому сказали: “У Вифлеемі Юдейськім, бо так написано пророком: І ти, Вифлеєме, земле Юди, нічим не менша між містами Юди, бо з тебе вийде вождь, що буде пасти мій народ, Ізраїля.” Тоді Ірод, покликавши тайкома мудреців, випитав у них пильно про час, коли зоря з’явилась, і відіслав їх у Вифлеем, кажучи: “Ідіть та розпитайтесь пильно про дитя, і коли знайдете, сповістіть мені, щоб я теж пішов йому вклонитись.” Вислухали вони царя і пустилися в дорогу. І ось зоря, що її бачили на сході, йшла перед ними, аж поки не підійшла й не стала зверху, де було дитятко. Побачивши зорю, зраділи радістю вельми великою. Увійшли до хати й побачили дитятко з Марією, матір’ю його, і, впавши ниць, поклонились йому; потім відкрили свої скарби й піднесли йому дари: золото, ладан і миро. І попереджені вві сні до Ірода не завертати, пустились іншою дорогою у край свій. Замість Достойно: Величай, душе моя, у вертепі народженого Царя – Христа. Ірмос (глас 1): Таїнство чудне бачу і преславне: небо – вертеп, престол херувимський – Діву, ясла – вмістилище, в яких возліг невмістимий Христос Бог. Його оспівуючи величаємо. Причасний Ізбавління послав Господь людям своїм (Пс 110,9). Алилуя (х3). За Галицьким звичайем співаємо: Всесвіт днесь радістю сповняється, Христос родився від Діви. Замість  “Благословенний, хто йде в ім’я…” (1x) “Ми бачили світло істинне…” (x1) “Нехай сповняться уста…” (x3) і “Нехай буде ім’я…” (x3).
