Natalia Onyschuk, currently teaches grade four at St. Matthew Catholic Bilingual School (Edmonton Catholic Schools), has been recognized by the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (University of Alberta) and its Holdomor Research and Education Consortium for her work preparing lessons about the Holodomor for Elementary school-aged children.
She presented her composition “Dry Tears” to the HREC Holodomor Research and Education Consortium and at a conference in Toronto last year.
Her work/study plans are deliberately published in English, so that it may be used across Canada and internationally for mainstream school children for maximum exposure. Much work has been done, curriculum wise, at the Jr./Sr. school levels, but this is specifically for Elementary students.
Congratulations to Natalia!
