Слава Ісусу Христу/ Glory be to Jesus Christ Altar Boy’s past and present!

We hope things are well in this time of Covid and that 2021 is better than last year. Last year we had to cancel for the first time Altar-boy summer camp. I know that many of you had missed the camp as we too missed camp and the weeklong fun activities grounded in Catechism lessons and Prayer.

At this point, we don’t know if camp will continue this summer due to Covid, but we do know that if it does, we will make it the best one ever … with one major exception.

We are writing this letter to you to share the sad news that our Fr. Josaphat Tyrkalo, who has led us for so many years at camp, who was the one who was always asking how we can make camp ‘more fun’ for the boys and the one who led our catechism classes has passed away and is now with Jesus. Fr. Josaphat had died peacefully on the 27th of December, 2020.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Action:

On Sunday January 31st, Fr. Josaphat would have celebrated his 76th Birthday.

We are asking that each Altar boy, both past and present take time on this day to pray the rosary with your family. If you are able to – JOIN US In a virtual meeting!

One of my fondest memories of camp is how excited Fr. Josaphat would get when we would pray the rosary together most nights. We ask that we all join together in this prayer on Sunday, January 31^st at 5 pm.
