About Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish – Roundhill

Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish at Round Hill is a historic Ukrainian Catholic parish founded by early settlers from western Ukraine and associated with the Basilian mission in east-central Alberta. The first church was built in 1903 and blessed in 1904, and a larger cruciform church was built in 1925.

The parish is recognized for its Byzantine architectural character, bell tower, landmark presence, and continuing role in worship and community fellowship. Its history includes interior church painting by Lipynskyj and Theodor Baran, episcopal visits, religious vocations, and long service by Basilian and Eparchial clergy.
