About Holy Trinity Parish – Vegreville

Holy Trinity Parish in Vegreville is one of the key Ukrainian Catholic communities in east-central Alberta, founded by a small but determined group of families who first began attending services between Vegreville and Mundare. In the early years, the parish grew from very modest beginnings, eventually acquiring a vacant church building that was moved to its present site and later expanded to serve the growing faithful. Even as outside groups tried to influence the community, the parishioners remained united and grateful to God for preserving their church and their Ukrainian Catholic identity.

Over time, Holy Trinity became a strong centre of parish, cultural, and family life. The parish built a hall, supported the work of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, and grew rapidly as more families joined the community. With the help of dedicated lay leaders, clergy, and religious sisters, Holy Trinity developed into a vibrant parish with a strong women’s organization, a growing congregation, and a lasting place in the history of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada.
