Descent of the Holy Spirit Parish – Waskatenau

Descent of the Holy Spirit, also known as Holy Ghost Parish, is a Ukrainian Catholic parish in Waskatenau between Radway and Smoky Lake. Its cemetery land was incorporated in 1941, church land was purchased in 1950, and construction began in 1950-1951.

The church cornerstone was blessed in 1951, and Bishop Neil Savaryn blessed the church in 1970. Parish history also records a finished basement, a Ukrainian Catholic Women's League branch begun in 1974, named cantors, and service by Basilian and Eparchial clergy.
