iPraises ("the App"), provided by The Glorious Agency on behalf of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton ("we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

iPraises is a liturgical calendar and prayer reference app for the Ukrainian Catholic (Byzantine) tradition. It displays daily feast and saint information, prayer texts, and service details without requiring an account or collecting personal information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We do not collect any personal information from you. The App does not require account creation, login, or any form of user registration. You do not provide us with your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Language preference. When you first open the App, we detect your device's language setting (English or Ukrainian) using your device's localization API. This is used only to select the default display language and is not transmitted or stored off your device.

Crash and diagnostic data (Sentry). If you are using a production build distributed through the App Store or Google Play, the App may send crash reports and diagnostic information to Sentry, a third-party error monitoring service. This data is limited to:

• Exception stack traces and error messages
• Device model, operating system version, and app version
• App lifecycle breadcrumbs (e.g., tab navigation, network status changes)

This data does not include your name, email address, device identifier, IP address, or any personal information. Sentry data is used exclusively to identify and fix bugs so the App runs reliably. Sentry's privacy policy is available at https://sentry.io/privacy/

1.3 Content Data

When you use the App, it requests liturgical content (calendar entries, feast days, prayer texts) from the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton's public API at `eeparchy.com`. The only information sent with these requests is:

• Your selected language (English or Ukrainian)
• Calendar date ranges (e.g., "show me July 2026")

No personal data, device identifiers, or location information is included in these requests.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above for the following purposes only:

• To display liturgical content in your selected language
• To cache content on your device for offline access and faster loading
• To diagnose and fix crashes through Sentry error reporting
• To remember your preferences (language, font size, welcome screen setting) — stored locally on your device only

We do not use any information for advertising, marketing, user profiling, or automated decision-making.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. The App integrates the following third-party services for its core functionality:

3.1 Sentry (Error Monitoring)

• Service: Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA)
• Purpose: Crash reporting and app stability monitoring
• Data shared: Exception stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, app lifecycle breadcrumbs

• Note: Sentry is only enabled in production App Store and Google Play builds. No data is sent in development or debug builds.

3.2 eeparchy.com API (Content Delivery)

• Service: Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton's public API
• Purpose: Delivering liturgical calendar and prayer content
• Data shared: Language preference and date range parameters only
• No personal data is transmitted.

3.3 CanadaHelps (Donations)

• Service: CanadaHelps.org
• Purpose: Optional charitable donations to the Eparchy
• Data shared:** None from within the App. The donation page opens in your device's external web browser. Any information you provide on the CanadaHelps website is subject to CanadaHelps' own privacy policy at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/privacy-policy/

3.4 Expo / EAS (Build and Distribution)

• Service: Expo / 650 Industries, Inc.
• Purpose: App build, signing, and distribution through the app stores
• Data shared: No runtime data. Expo EAS is used only during the build and submission process.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

All user preferences and cached content are stored only on your device using the standard on-device storage mechanisms provided by iOS and Android. This includes:

• Your selected language and font size
• Whether you have completed initial setup
• Whether to show the welcome screen
• Cached calendar and prayer content for offline access

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

4.2 Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect any data transmitted by the App:

• All network communication uses HTTPS (TLS encryption)
• No personal data is stored on our servers
• Your on-device preferences are isolated to the App's sandboxed storage

Data Retention

• On-device preferences and cache: Retained until you uninstall the App or clear the App's data through your device settings. Cached liturgical content expires automatically (calendar data after 7 days, prayer content after 30 days) and is refreshed when needed.
• Sentry crash data: Retained by Sentry according to their data retention policies. Sentry's default retention is 90 days for error events.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. Since the App does not collect personal information, most of these rights are inherently satisfied. However, we want you to be aware of them:

• Right to Know: You can review all locally stored preferences within the App's Settings screen. No personal data is stored on our servers.
• Right to Delete: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. To request deletion of any Sentry crash data associated with your device, contact us at the email below.
• Right to Opt-Out: The App does not sell, share, or use personal data for targeted advertising, so no opt-out is necessary.
• Right to Access: Since we hold no personal data about you, there is no personal data to provide.

6.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

The App does not collect, sell, or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). No opt-out mechanism is required because no personal information is collected.

6.2 European Economic Area and United Kingdom Residents (GDPR)

The App does not process personal data as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The limited technical data sent to Sentry is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining app stability and does not constitute personal data under GDPR.

6.3 Canadian Residents (PIPEDA)

The App complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). No personal information is collected, used, or disclosed by the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. However, since the App is a general-audience religious reference tool that collects no personal information whatsoever, it is safe for use by all age groups.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information (though our App does not collect such information), please contact us immediately.

8. Third-Party Links

The App contains a link to CanadaHelps.org for optional charitable donations. Once you leave the App and open CanadaHelps in your browser, you are subject to CanadaHelps' own privacy policy and terms. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or through the app store listing.
