“Metanoia” — Greek Catholic Young Adult Gatherings in Edmonton

What does believing in God mean in everyday adult life?

You are invited to the first gathering of “Metanoia,” a Greek Catholic youth community in Edmonton.

The topic of the gathering is:

“God and I — Who Is God?”

Together, we will explore simple but important questions:

  • Who is God?
  • Who am I in God’s eyes?
  • Does God know me?
  • What does it mean that I was created in the image of God?
  • How does my life change when I believe?
  • What can these questions offer me as an adult?
  • How can faith help me in my everyday life?

These may seem like simple questions, but do we really have our own answers to them? Have we talked about them in church before? And do we give ourselves the opportunity to seriously reflect on who God is for us personally?

This gathering will be more than a lecture. It will include an engaging explanation of the topic, an opportunity to ask questions, share your thoughts, and take part in an open discussion.

The gathering will also include:

  • prayer;
  • conversation in a welcoming atmosphere;
  • agape — coffee, refreshments, and informal conversation;
  • an opportunity to meet other young people;
  • a chance to connect with people who share similar values, perspectives, and a desire to grow in their relationship with God.

It does not matter how often you attend church or whether you already have all the answers.

Come if you want to better understand the Catholic view of God, talk about faith without fear of judgment, or simply meet new people.

The first gathering will be held in Ukrainian. Future gatherings are planned to be bilingual.

Come on your own or invite a friend. This conversation may help you see God, yourself, and your everyday life in a new way.

“God alone is enough.”
St. Teresa of Avila
