+Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Glory… now… Only-begotten Son…

Third Antiphon

Verse 1 (Soloist): Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever (Ps 117:1).

Troparion (Tone 1): When You, O Lord, were baptized in the Jordan,* worship of the Trinity was revealed;* the voice of the Father bore witness to You,* naming You the “beloved Son,”* and the Spirit in the form of a dove confirmed the Word’s certainty.* Glory to You, O Christ God,* who appeared and enlightened the world.

Verse 2 (Soloist): Therefore let the house of Israel say that He is good, for His mercy endures forever (Ps 117:2).

Troparion (Tone 4): When You, O Lord, were baptized …

Verse 3 (Soloist): Therefore, let the house of Aaron say that He is good, for His mercy endures forever (Ps 117:3).

Troparion (Tone 4): When You, O Lord, were baptized …

Verse 4 (Soloist): Let all who fear the Lord say that He is good, for His mercy endures forever (Ps 117:4).

Entrance Verse (Soloist): Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord, we bless you from the house of the Lord; the Lord is God and has appeared to us (Ps 117:26-27).

+Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Kontakion (Tone 4): Today You have appeared to the world* and Your light, O Lord, has been signed on us,* who with knowledge sing Your praises.* You have come, You have appeared, O unapproachable Light.

Instead of “Holy God…”: All you, who have been baptized into Christ, you have put on Christ! Alleluia!

Prokimenon (Tone 4): Blessed is He, who comes in the Name of the Lord;* God the Lord has appeared to us (Ps 117:26-27).

verse: Give thanks to the Lord for He is good for His mercy endures forever (Ps 117:1).

Epistle: (Ti 2:11-14; 3:4-7): Titus my son, the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly, while we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds. But when the goodness and loving-kindness of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Alleluia (Tone 4):
verse: Bring to the Lord, you sons of God; bring to the Lord young rams (Ps 28:1).
verse: The voice of the Lord is over the waters, the God of glory has thundered, the Lord reigns over vast waters (Ps 28:3).

Gospel: (Mt 3:13-17): At that time, Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?’ But Jesus answered him, ‘Let it be so now; for it is proper for us in this way to fulfil all righteousness.’ Then he consented. And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.’

Instead of “It is truly…”: O my soul, magnify Christ the King, baptized in the Jordan.

Irmos (Tone 2): Every tongue is at a loss to praise you as is your due, O Mother of God. Even a spirit from above is filled with dizziness when seeking to sing your praises. But since you are good, accept out faith, for you know well our love inspired by God. For it is you who protect all Christians; therefore, we magnify you.

Communion Verse: The Grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all (Ti 2:11). Alleluia! (3x)

According to Galician usage, we sing:
All creation is filled with rejoicing today, for Christ is baptized in the Jordan.
Instead of We have seen the true light…” (1x) “May our mouths be filled…” (3x) and “Blessed be the Name of the Lord…” (3x).
