MUNDARE – Sister Naucratia Hawryluk marked 80 years of religious life and Sister Celeste Diachynsky 70 years at a special celebration at St. Joseph’s Home here July 17.
The two Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate were honoured following a Divine Liturgy.
Hawryluk, a 95-year-old native of Mundare, served in the hospitals at Mundare and Willingdon as well as spending six years in her order’s motherhouse in Rome.
She was also a nurse and superior at Holy Family Nursing Home in Winnipeg, St. Paul’s Nursing Home in Dauphin, Man., and Chestnut Hill Nursing Home in Philadelphia.
Diachynsky spent many years in administration and also served 10 years as treasurer for the provincial council of the Sisters Servants.
